Designing Healthcare That Puts People First -

A review of our FLUID Creative Confluence during MCBW

Last Thursday, we merged our popular Creative Confluence series with the Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW).

Our guests joined us for an evening that explored one central question: How can design and technology work together to bring healthcare closer to people - and make it truly human-centred? This topic attracted a broad and interested audience - the event vibrated with new ideas, questions and the resulting lively conversations.

Our speakers – Ulf Krueger, CEO and Founder of PULMOTREE, and Ralph Bremenkamp, our Director Strategy & Industrial Design at FLUID – shared both their experiences and forward-looking visions of how design and technology are increasingly shaping the relationship between people and medical products.

They highlighted a shift towards a more human-centred approach, where:

• People and their health are placed at the centre
• Devices enable meaningful connection and communication
• Digital ecosystems support personalised care

Their insights pointed to a future where the boundary between healthcare and everyday life dissolves — making care not only more integrated and accessible, but also more humane and effective through user-centred design.

What did we take away from the evening — and what did we leave our audience with?

We discussed how design can be a bridge between the world of advanced technology and human connection.

The shift towards user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing medical devices is changing healthcare. Electronic medical devices are no longer seen as intimidating but integrate into people’s lives like any other consumer electronics.

This design evolution is critical to promoting well-being and belonging, empowering patients and connecting communities.

The creative industries, particularly design and product development, have a responsibility to deeply understand the needs of individuals, not just as patients, but as people with diverse lifestyles. The healthcare industry is in a unique position to craft solutions that support empowerment through design.

Medically certified product solutions such as PULMOTREE's ‘Kolibri’ Nebulizer System not only manage to completely rethink the physical product through consistent innovation - they create true user-centricity through a holistically conceived digital ecosystem with which the treatment experience is optimized to the very individual needs of the single user.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening such a success!
