The Challenge
Designing the new MASTERPULS® R-SW meant translating proven medical technology into a contemporary, compact, and mobile product experience in two variants. STORZ MEDICAL aimed to set a new benchmark in radial shockwave therapy - combining high performance, intuitive handling, and economic efficiency within a clearly recognizable design language. The challenge was to rethink form, usability, and system architecture without compromising the trusted therapeutic effectiveness that clinicians rely on every day.


The Solution
With the MASTERPULS® R-SW system, we envisioned efficiency through flexibility. The result is a portable, integrated therapy platform that combines power, ergonomics, and clarity in its most compact form.A reduced, confident product design houses advanced compressor technology, an integrated touchscreen interface, and seamless connectivity for multiple handpieces. Whether used in clinical environments, during house visits, or at sports events, the system communicates reliability, precision, and modern medical competence.

The design framework is built for scalability - capable of evolving with future STORZ MEDICAL therapy platforms while preserving a recognizable visual DNA.
Designing for Clinical Precision
The system architecture accommodates a wide range of STORZ MEDICAL applicators, each designed for specific anatomical regions and therapeutic goals. The visual and functional integration of these components reinforces the system’s versatility while maintaining a coherent overall appearance.
Collaborative Foundations
From early concept phases onward, close collaboration between industrial design, engineering, and medical expertise shaped the MASTERPULS® R-SW generation. Every design decision balanced technical feasibility, clinical usability, and brand expression - resulting in a product that feels both advanced and immediately familiar.
Defining a Design Language
We developed a visual language defined by compact proportions, clean surfaces, and clear interaction zones. The design communicates precision and performance while reducing visual complexity - transforming advanced medical technology into a calm, approachable tool.Materials, color accents, and interface elements were carefully selected to convey durability, hygiene, and professional confidence.
